Yup and also in the 60's. The girl's sister bought it for her; I knew better than to touch it having seen a cousin rendered unfunctional by that stuff previously.

Hmmm - Deja vue? Cheerleader, Sloe Gin, '63 Impala, same pre-empted evening plans and technicolor upchuck . . .
When I was 17 and in college in NY State the drinking age was 18 and the liquor stores delivered. After coming all the way to campus they weren't interested in IDs.

I hosted a tequila sunrise party, which was my first real hard-core drunk, and the only time I ever had the chair spins.

The next morning, in addition to my first grown-up hangover I began a 'never again' commitment towards tequila that lasted more than 15 years!

Totally get the sentiment. Find a good dark Anejo and try that. I posted one in the What are You Drinking thread. Reminds me of a nice whisky. Tequila is supposed to be sipped, which is where so many go off the rails. I think my max ever was 7. Notice I said think. The cantina owner wasn't stopping her husband from buying me shots to match his... the rest of the week hurt.

I haven’t tried either of these tequila enhancements, but you have my blessing. I’ve heard that tequila and tea are a good mix. The other rec was to take an empty half gallon milk bottle, open the top all the way, set a fifth of tequila inside, fill it with water and freeze it.
Now this really sounds good to me for vodka. I’m more a whiskey guy but ice cold vodka is pretty nice.
I played tequila checkers one afternoon (early 70s). That will light you up.

A conspiracy theorist dies and goes to heaven.

After a bit, God meets with him and says, β€œI know you have been curious about much. Ask me any question, and I will tell you the unmitigated truth.”

The fellow thinks a moment and asks, β€œWho shot JFK?”

God says, β€œOswald. Acting alone.”

The fellow says, β€œWow, this goes higher than I thought!”

Tequilas and Rums bought outside the US have a different flavor profile than the doctored up swill they pass off to us here in the States.

#1 in my case
