The Thicket…with Peter Dinklage (short dude in Game of Thrones) and Juliette Lewis, whom I haven’t seen in a movie since Cape Fear, Natural Born Killers…good offbeat western

"Good Night and Good Luck" - it was a time similar today when many lived in fear of reprisal. McCarthy used bold accusations and populist appeal to mount and maintain this fear. Edward R Murrow stepped up to the plate with backing from CBS leadership. Murrow eloquently spoke to the nation and consequently drove a knife through the heart of McCarthyism.

Part of Murrow's message was as follows: "Earlier the Senator asked, “Upon what meat does this, our Caesar, feed?” Had he looked three lines earlier in Shakespeare’s Caesar, he would have found this line, which is not altogether inappropriate: “The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, but in ourselves.”

Like Mandela's "Invictus", "Good Night and Good Luck" brings hope.

Sinners...dark horror style of movie, but not what I had expected...and the blues soundtrack is worth the watch alone...surprising Buddy Guy cameo at the end...

Watching "Homestead Rescue" on Discovery+. Really interesting how a man with his son and daughter travel all over the lower 48 and Alaska to help people having a hard time living off grid. Now watching season 8 out of 12 seasons. Will watch "The Last Frontier" about the Kilchers next.
