2025: A Fantastic Pink Year?

Trying to figure this out. What usefulness would a bunch of humped up pinks have?
I honestly couldn't tell you. Personal experience there, after the 4th or 5th time getting access blocked because nets were in long after they were supposed to be out, I stopped turning right off Luhr , switched gear for starry flounder , and made it a habit to start going left out of Luhr . I think the last time I targeted pinks was from a public pier with everyone around me throwing buzz bombs and spinners.

Now that you're retired you can really get after them...
I look forward to your report(s)

Join me and we can cook one on the beach this summer. The slime really helps hold the sand panko on. 😂
SF

We can wash it down with a can of sun baked beer, and then leave the garbage at the beach for the complete Pink Fishing experience.
A real PNW right of passage
🤣

I visited a very crowded and popular pink salmon beach in summer 2005 just to check out the spectacle. I came across a tweaker type who looked a lot like Gollum. He was landing a pink and excitedly talking to himself. The pink was flopping violently in the sand totally caked. He didn't have a driftwood club, so I jokingly suggested he bite it's head to end the struggle. He grimaced to show me his remaining teeth and gums and did some brutal things to that poor salmon. Meth was a real problem in those days.

After, or before, you land it, be sure to pull 400-1100 yards of way too thick mono or braid off your reel/z, and leave that strewn all around the beach in several large tangles. If someone's dog isn't caught, or someone else isn't actively picking up, the giant line mess you created because you don't know how to spool your reel without line twist, you haven't actually caught a pink.

I saw a guy with two spinning rods on my ride through Lincoln Park this morning and was wondering what he was up to. An early Pink Pilgrim?

The early bird gets the Pink...

Despite what many think, the sand goes on before the slime has hardened off when beach cooking a Pink, then it is left to sun bake, with an occasional basting of warm beer, or dog pee.
This minor contretemps being now settled, let the fun begin.
:)

I have fished Bush Point a lot (see avatar) but it’s too much of a shit show for a little boy running around while the lures fly. Has anyone ever done well for slimers at Double Bluff or Maxwelton?

Not really done well from shore at Double Bluff, but in a boat have done ok.
Try Lagoon, probably not as bad as Bush.

Fort Casey or Driftwood Park are good spots and close to each other. Usually enough room to spread out. Maxwelton is small and usually crowded.
