Made ya’ look.

The open seat is in my Honda CRV. The plan is to leave W. Seattle around 6AM and head out highway 2, (can meet wherever,) mountain bike in around 2 miles and hike another half mile to a lake, fish until a reasonable hour, and then fight traffic back home. I can loan a small inflatable raft. The weather looks nice.

No takers, so I went solo again. MTB is definitely the way to go for this lake; the uphill ride in is a bit of a grunt, but bombing out at the end of the day was awesome.

Shrooms on the waytrail in. I fell and nearly impaled myself when a rotten log collapsed.

Local ambiance.

The loons are still there. They sure put up a ruckus when a Bald Eagle came by later in the day. I also saw a bat out bug collecting in broad daylight.

I was catching small fish on a variety of flies until I got down and dirty with a florescent yellow bead head jig leech and found a few bigger players.

Nice view from the outlet stream.

The trusty steed, the pig, and some more local ambiance.

Eastbound traffic on SR2 looked epically bad at 6PM with everyone headed out for the long weekend; getting back home just a bit worse than usual.

I thought about taking you up on your open seat offer, but then I considered all the I-5 traffic I'd have to contend with. Used to be morning commutes weren't bad until about 6:30. Now it's bad even at 5:30. No wonder I haven't been on Hwy 2 for many years.

I would love to get out with you sometime. Really, it wasn't a bit bad at 06:00. 'Depends on where you're coming from, of course.

I learned that the clamp thingies for my bike rack don't fit the cross bars on my Crosstrek. I need to come up with something, or throw the bike in the back of my truck and drive that.
