Glad you guys had a good time! After I got my stuff done, I fished a local lake and C&R’d 27 rainbows with one 18” holdover…..all on bamboo of course!

It took me 2 hours to get there and another 2 hours to get home, no longer accustomed to the traffic. That said it was worth every minute I was able to spend with this group of guys. The toast to Tim Cottage added something special to the day. I was very (always) impressed by the craftsmanship, especially when transcends to art. There was a lot of fine art there. I would enjoy the ability (invite) to spend some time with someone to show me your techniques so I could improve my skills. The idea someone mentioned of getting together in the fall sounds good. How about getting together to fish? Someone mentioned Lake Kokanee, one of my favorites. Think the state stocks the lake in July so the fishing should be good when the other low land lakes are slow.
I wish we'd had another couple hours before that darn rain chased us away, I needed more time to browse the rods and do more casting. But seeing the old gang and a few first-timer (new) friends was a treat. Now I just need to find some choice crooked lines on the map to exercise my own bamboo rods this year. Tight lines all!
I agree, it would have been nice to have a couple more hours to cast a few more rods. so little time so many rods LOL.
Sorry I missed a chance to meet all of you again and admire all the craftsmanship. Always fun and inspirational. I'll be sure to toast Tim next time I'm on the water with a boo rod in my hand. Had a pickleball tournament out of town. Wish I could have seen Tom again. He supplied me with bonefish taper that was really successful in Mexico last year.

One thing I know for sure, any large fish YOU caught took a museum quality tied fly. Cheers Dave!

I am sorry I missed the Bamboo get together this year. I always enjoy casting and seeing the history of bamboo rods on display. We were in eastern Washington on a pay-to-play lake which is well managed for large, energetic rainbows. After which, I went to Chopaka to unlimber one of Mike Monsos' beautiful wands tossing Quigleys.
