Sad to learn last Sunday that the Little Fort Fly & Tackle Shop is "For Sale" and if not sold by October 15, will close. Brad said this was all the result of his "notice" (to the owner) of his decision to finally "give it up." Sad, sad, sad for many here who've been in the shop for flies, materials and, most importantly, local intel. I'm really going to miss it........ It is (was) one of the very best little fly shops I've ever been in...

Hopefully, someone will be found to take it over. The shop and Brad trigger many fond memories for me!

Sad to hear it. That was always the final stop before driving up to the plateau for a great week of fishing. Great intel, flies, and lots of materials that you don't see stocked in the States. Hopefully he finds a buyer.
 
What a shame, that was the first stop for a newbie going up the Fishing Highway the first time and for every trip thereafter. You would think that there would be an eager buyer for such an iconic shop.

It's a tough niche business, and a sure way for a flyfisher to drastically reduce their coveted days actually fishing. Very few flyshops seem manage to transition to a new owner....and the situation hasn't been helped by on-line's assault on all types of 'brick & mortar' retail. Vicious cycle.

A tough business indeed! I hadn't been in a fly shop for years until you took me to Silver Bow in Spokane last winter. I was just dumbstruck by the prices, the overhead must be enormous just to keep the doors open. It is usually years between my visits to fly shops but in September I was in 3 shops in one day in Craig, Montana. I had anticipated spending about $100 on flies for the trip, it didn't take long and there were damned few of them....
 
There is a GOD!!! What great news. This makes my day. THANKS for posting. (EDIT): Just thinking about this news - maybe a "no-go", but it would be icing on the cake if you could convince Brad to "come back", if only for a few hours each week. :):):)
