The thing to consider between knife makers is deciding which lock mechanism you find comfortable. At a certain price point (like a bench made) you can assume the edge will be comparable between makers and the quality of machining and tolerances will be similar. What makes them different when handled and used is how they open and close and how they lock. That’s totally personal preference. For example, I find bench made to be really easy and slick one handed and I fumble with a spyder co. Yet many others will disagree. Handle some knives in person and just play around with them and see what feels right.

But for real, besides edc, its perfect lightweight camping knife cut guttin' those sweet, sweet stockers my kid loves to eat.

that's one of the reasons Civivi are such a price point bargain, as almost all of their flippers use ball bearings. My fave EDC flips out effortlessly compared to my Spyderco's.
