Yeah, I know a couple spots like that. One that is super hallow and the current really rips. Would not want to get caught up in that.

Am I just an example of the shifting baseline or do these look really good to anyone else?
Took today off and fished from 11:00-2:00. Caught a bunch of cookie cutter rezzies but no Cutthroat. Don’t get me wrong, I have a blast with anything that will eat my crapy ties. That occasionally fall apart…
I always struggle finding Cutts until around April. Got some top-water bites but no hookups on the surface.

Haven't posted in a while but I did my first trip of the year last week, figured I'd do a write up even if it brought no fish. Walked down to my local to fish for a little bit before dinner. Fished a small pink clouser. Was worried my fly casting would be unusable but it's only gotten a little rusty. Water was calm as glass, saw a pod of porpoises pass by and a couple Bald Eagles. Fished the whole stretch north of the creek where I historically caught fish but not a bite. Was still nice to be back out on the water. Will have to give area 10 a go for a change

Fun day on the water. Got to the beach at 6:30. Still dark, damn time change!
Fished until 2:30. Lots of action and fish to hand, but not much size wise. Used a centipede legs chum fry clouser and never changed flies today.
Got checked for my license and barbs. Nice young officer. Glad to see them out there.

Very nice! I too was out all day. 3 beaches but not a fish in sight.
Fished a bit this last weekend with limited success, some rezzies and no Cutts. The best part was Sunday night. Got about five coho on from the beach and zero landed. Then, while sitting around the table for dinner my wife asked how fishing was. Told her I lost five, then she and my children decided I needed a standing ovation! It was not a short round of applause. Totally worth loosing some fish for their enjoyment. Anyways, glad others are landing some great fish.
Are those rezzies getting to be eating size?
I love eating them. They are super tasty.

The bigger ones are around 16” now. They are really good eating. My favorite is making ceviche with them.
That sounds great. Next time you make coho ceviche, please post some pics and your recipe. I’m always up for trying new things with local catches.

Spent an uncomfortably wet day on the water today, but fishing was good enough to make us forget about it for periods of the day.
Theme of the day was fish concentrated in very specific areas, very active on fry. Almost all of our fish came from these specific spots, with little shown in the way of just random encounters as we covered water.
Once found, these fish were quite aggressive and would eat just about anything we threw at em. I fished an Olive/Orange cone headed bugger for half the day, and a silver surfer the rest. My friend with me fished a Squimp most of the day. Fish were very active on smaller schools of chum fry, but were not the least bit picky. That's the only kind of chum fry fishing I really enjoy
Did I mention it was wet? It was also cold. Temp didn't get too low, it was just one of those days where the relentless rain just eventually beats you down and you just seem to absorb the cold no matter what you do. I've been home for a couple hours and I'm still cold as hell.
Too wet to take many pics, but I was very happy with the quality of the fish today. Nothing bigger than maybe 17", but plenty of those 14-16" fish that can make a day so much fun.
