Might need a property survey done in Seattle. Any companies you might have used and recommend?
Neighbor is considering building 2 additional units behind me. Rumor is that part of my property is his and my driveway is part of the city so he can use my driveway as part of the city street. Odd thing is my driveway has an old oil fuel tank under it and runs between me and a different neighbor with access only I use.
Thanks
Mark

Moved from Seattle, 17 years ago, so I can't help. But, just a thought, and someone with better expertise can weigh in, but I have a recollection that if it is a boundary dispute, your surveyor needs to be mutually agreed upon by both parties. In other words if you get your own surveyor, and the results are not in your neighbor's favor, he/she doesn't have to accept them. Please, someone else, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Also, look into any easements. If you still have your Title Report for when you bought your place, it should spell it all out. Any changes since then you will know about.

Also understand Adverse Possession.

Property issues are complex and are not easily understood by the general public.

Talk with your neighbor and get a better standing. It is a lot easier to have open discussions upfront and determine if there is even an potential issue. Many times there is not an issue at all. If there is a potential issue, it could get resolved just by discussing it. That is a lot easier and cheaper than when surveyors and legal beagles get involved. Please do not ask me how I know...
