Do you mix your own olive green and light brown dubbing? I sometimes to do this but also use Arizona SS Dub Sprectrum Olive if I'm lazy.

In a perfect world I would use seal and blend to match but I use a lot of blended goat and will take the scissors to the hair to shorten it before blending and twisting it up. I also tie these with different colors of bodies with brown and a touch of orange in it probably my favorite. It really sets the copper ribbing off.

I've had very good luck in the Cowlitz with Lady Caroline flies. Both the steelhead and cutthroat take them. They are beautiful, have a history, and are a joy to use. They honor the fish.

Take a nap. If the river is up and running, taking a nap isn't wasting time.

When I run low on bait next time, now I know who to visit! And yeah, I don't fish the Cowlitz at 12kcfs either.
