or 'bain frog' as I like to call it. Never experienced it with Covid, but man, I'm on the tail end of a 10 day virus and I got the 'frog' pretty bad. Typing Google searches into a text message window -- my kids are all wondering why I sent 'cribbage rules' and 'Pho recipe' to our family chat. Work is a challenge. I work from home in tech., luckily I create pretty extensive notes and documentation for what I do; doesn't help if you can't remember where you put said documentation..

Nasty viruses going around this year. I hope you all stay healthy out there.

Sorry, not fun and semi-scary when it lasts for longer than you expect. I have only had it once and it was miserable…I hope it subsides soon.

Just be aware there are new things coming out about covid and "long covid". Yale just released some new things... more to come i believe...

The flu went around recently in the household. I was out a couple of days, then worked half days so I could rest up. I too work from home…I had to triple check twice to make sure I(s) were dotted and T(s) were crossed…pretty foggy during that session.

Lysol spray is a wonder item to protect that immune system. Wipe those shopping cart handles down and avoid crowds.

This has been one of the worst years for colds and flu that I remember. I work in a public setting with lots of staff. It seems like almost everyone I work with has gotten it this year, myself included. I got sick in mid-January for about a week, then again a few weeks later. I never recall ever getting back-to-back colds like that before. Stay healthy everyone.

mini naps are a God-send relief for me. 20min nap = as much as an hour of almost feeling human again. Another case where working from home really helps. Can't imagine dealing with this back when I used to swing a hammer for a living.

If you fly, remember that is recirculated cabin air. All it takes is one passenger to spread the misery.

May want to read this more factual article:

Thank you for the research. I have only flown 3 times in my life, most recent was 2004. Looks like cabin air has been upgraded.

May want to read this more factual article:

Yes, the process of keeping the cabin pressurized means that new air is constantly being pumped in from AC packs to replace the air that escapes, due to the vessel not being 100% air tight. The number of “air changes” per hour is actually much higher than in a standard home or office building.

The fourth time I TURNED MY BRAIN TO MUSH I couldn't hear the car horns! When you TURN TO MUSH you never know what's going on anymore.

flu kicked our ass this year, wife ended up with pneumonia
8 billion people on a shrinking rock, millions of them traveling country to country daily
viruses mutating faster than the vaccines can keep up with

With two toddlers in daycare, I don’t know if the brain fog is from constant sickness or just the general 24/7 ass-kicking they dole out. Either way, I feel your pain. And I concur that it’s been an ugly winter, virus-wise.

Fingers crossed that a bird flu pandemic is less inevitable than I think it is. Not intending anything political with that statement - it just seems like it’s embedded enough in our animal ag system that it’s WHEN not IF.

I recommend retirement. Worked in retail for 40 years coming in contact with thousands of customers a week and had colds/flu a few times a year. Retired four years ago and have not been sick once. It's weird. Not helpful I know, but somewhat relevant.

The guy I ski with weekly, who is super healthy and almost never gets ill, recently went through a bout of this year's flu. He says he was by far the sickest he's ever been in his life. Somewhere around 19,000 'Muricans have died from the flu so far this season. It's the real deal.

I'm on the downside of my bout. I don't think I got a particularly virulent strain of the virus, but it morphed into a sinus infection that was probably the main cause of my brain fog. I'm about 1/2 way through an anti-biotic prescription and getting back to myself.
