Fly Fishing show 2025

I don't really need any new gear either, but some days I find myself susceptible to impulse purchasing. Wandered by the Snowbee booth and began talking to the guy there. He introduced me to their plastic/fiberglass reel. It reminded me of the old Berkley 554, 556, and 558 plastic and graphite reels from the mid-1970s, with a disc drag instead of spring-and-pawl. For $45 I've made worse decisions in my life. They also had these super thin - 1 mm - neoprene waterproof fishing gloves. I think I can even wear my thin merino wool glove liners (thanks Stonedfish!) in them instead of using nitrile gloves that I rip up pretty fast. I'm always looking for ways to keep my hands warm when fishing since I have Reynaud's. And since we're into February, the bookstore had nice fishing calanders marked down from 17 to $10.

I walked around, and realized there really isn't much in the way of new gear I need or want. But those two; the Meadows Lake camp and the liveaboard Petersburg guide service were really enticing!
4 guys on a boat (meals, guiding, room) for a total cost of $2,100/day for the boat for the summer and fall season. That works out of $525 per angler per day for everything except tips. Am seriously thinking of doing this to chase estuary dollies and coastal cutts in the summer or maybe salmon in late summer or fall.

The spring steelhead trips are very expensive. He also said that about half of the steelhead fishing is dead-drifting and only about half the steel heading is swinging the fly.

Had a good time there, but only saw 3 people I know. Not flybill. One of these days they're gonna' sell me on Tenkara since it's one of the few toys I don't already have.
You can try my tenkara Salmo! I love it.. one of the tenkara booths was giving what I consider bad casting advice.. other than that all of the rods were pretty sweet and priced well from 150 to 200 with show discounts.

So do it! We can go out.. now i want to take my tenkara with me to Skagit tomorrow! Hell to the ya! A native steelhead or dolly on a light tenkara! @jake be ready with the net for me.

Kinda weird, I don’t remember you saying hi to me at the book store.
