Otis Reading; the man who took a Temptations song… yes a Temptations song….and actually made it better.




Another I recently downloaded. If you are a 90’s hip hop fan, this song will ring a bell as a sample on some prominent songs. Also for some play in an important scene in the last season of The Ozarks.

My husband’s band is practicing tonight. I love my time alone and when i get it on a weekend, i turn off the TV (except for our virtual crackling fireplace) pour a glass of good red, and scroll through YouTube Premium channel, looking for new songs to add to my Spotify playlist. What i find myself looking for are covers of old songs from my generation by younger new artists.This may have been put up before (on the old site) because it feels like a pandemic song, but it sadly applies today because of Ukraine. Queue up Taj Mahal at 2:00. Awesome. I wonder how they do this editing!

The Otis version is the one I remember best. Though the Temptations version is the one you heard on the radio the most.
 

I just love this guy and started following him on YouTube since i heard his Cold Little Heart song when i was watching that Nicole Kidman/series… i think it was called Big Little Lies and it was the opening song and right away i had to look it up.
