I've been loosely following yours, @jasmillo and @Stonedfish's worm experiements. Any reason not to use short (10mm) shanks and just tie it as a gamechanger but without taper?

Yep you sure can! Only thing I don’t like about those game changers is the potential gaps between the shanks. Fish don’t care but I like my worms to be continuous without gaps oh and the added weight but that’s a minor issue.

That makes sense. I feel like when you taper them, you can get rid of the gap.

Whatcha gonna do when you find some shorter musky shanks but don't feel like tying any musky flies? I guess tie up a Foxee Marabou swinger with a stinger.


Doesn't look like much, but most steelhead flies that work don't...so I guess there's that.

Edit. Added pic of a gray and white one. Now onto something else. Was trying hard to keep the colors separated too and bottom… didn’t quite get there but they are fishable.
