To me the most enjoyable aspect of being a sports fan is pulling for someone who makes you like them on a somewhat personal level. Wilson always struck me as the type who would stab you in the back as soon as it was in his best interest to do so. That may be entirely inaccurate yet it seems to come with the territory recently more often than it use to.

Good point. Haven’t been to a Niners game since candlestick days. Maybe Seattle tix will be cheap this year.
yep....the majority of my actual Broncos games I've attended were down in San Diego, which was notorious for cheap tickets and partially filled stadium....worked out great. 65% of the crowd was typically for the away team (kinda like they are now in LA from my understanding).

Like I've said earlier, he just has a very carefully crafted public face. He is a product. We don't get to see the "real" Russell Wilson as fans. I think that's a big part of why he rubs a lot of us the wrong way. We know it's a facade, and wish he'd just turn off the BS for once and be genuine.

I’ve always thought Russell and Alex Rodriguez were very similar for the most part when being interviewed.

I'm sure he'll be a big fan of having a new coach every couple years in Denver. Seems to be the MO over there, so I can understand why the concept of good coaching is a bit foreign ;)
hopefully, now that we've got a QB who doesn't totally suck, that won't be an issue.

in all seriousness, while I have no clue how well our new hire will do, I'm really glad they went with an offensive guy. I was irritated they didn't pursue Kyle Shannahan back when they interviewed him and hired Vance Joseph (probably had more to do with trying to break from the Shannahans), but in retrospect that move alone doesn't look so great considering what the younger Shanny did with Garopallo (sp?) despite the limitations.

We'll see how long Pete lasts with Lock & Geno as his QBs....:LOL:

Bobby Wagner released!

HAWKS FIRE SALE

just hearing about Bobby! Noooooooooooooooo!

Exactly!

Dear Seattle Seahawks fans, I'm sorry that you're basically relegated to a lover scorned. I mean, he just wasn't that into you. You just couldn't provide him what he really needed.

I mean, it's not all that surprising. The Hawks are in a bad spot in terms of salary cap and draft picks. There's a chance that Russ will be a superstar for another pile of years. But there's also a chance that he won't. And either way, Hawks weren't going to get out of this mess paying him (and bobby) the money on their contracts. The window was closing (or closed) and it's a ruthless business. Wouldn't be surprised to see Lockett or DK go next.

I guess we'll see what happens. I'd feel a lot better about it if I believed in PC/JS's drafting ability...

In all seriousness, pretty crazy day!

They're sure dumped a lot of salary today, and with the draft picks added, have a lot of flexibility moving forward. It'll definitely be interesting to see how this all plays out.

It damn near seems like they're gearing up to make a giant splash move, but there really isn't anyone I can think of that's available.

Draft picks yes, but weren't in any sort of cap struggle. Believe they were like 3rd or 4th entering the new league year in available cap space.

If there is one thing Schneider is damn good at its managing the cap.

But yes, overall I am not super surprised by Bobby
