I got two copies of it ,one was dads the other is mine, I'm really looking for the same deal I had with dad. he would make them I would fish them. Not having much luck finding that arrangementDo you want it back, I haven't read it yet?
how about you borrow the book & build them, It's kinda in your line of strange rod builds, they talk to tapers & type of woods & grains you need they are glued together like bamboo. beyond my skill set.Haven’t seen or heard of these....extra long pool cues with guides? I make all kinds of weird Hotrodz....let me know if you build one.
none ever got made, Dad passed away, Email me & I will send you the book, My dad was a engineer & understood the taper tables & had the wood working skills. from what I know you use a table saw & a hand plane & glue the pieces together . a bamboo rod builder could likely figure it out .So your dad made some? What length and line weight? Did he have a special long bed for his lathe? I’m curious.....let’s talk.
I have a table saw, I don't know if I could get the precision needed to cut strips down that small. I'd be afraid my finger might become part of the rod.table saw & a hand plane & glue the pieces together ....
I quickly scanned thru the book today, you saw the pieces on a table saw & then glue them & either hand sand them or use a lathe somehow. I have not read the book from cover to cover so if somebody wants to read the book fine otherwise it will sit on a shelf & gather dust. The cover states on a lathe as some rods look round and some of the pictured rods looks hexagonal. It seems to me that you’d need planing forms, correct?
