SFR Legit PNW Hurricane on the way

Sorta fishing-related
Well, the good news is that I purchased a new generator yesterday. Bad news is that it arrives Thursday. Hoping for a nothingburger.

Good news is NWS was wrong. Bad news is the prediction of 'no accumulation of snow' is off by 2" and still coming down...

What did you end up getting?

I used to love a good wind storm but now that I have a big ass tarp over our boat it just makes me nervous. We just got the rain in the Gorge but not the wind yet.

Our fig tree just lost its last leaves from a stiff breeze

Power out at 5:05. Gusts over 50 right now. Renton Highlands
It’s weird, dead calm in Buckley still.

It was calm here until an hour ago, then all of a sudden the large trees began rockin' and rollin'. And then the lights blinked a little bit ago.

I went and bought some 0-E gas for the generator this afternoon, just in case. Good luck everyone!

Ahhhh... the sound of dueling banjos of a different kind right now. Generators and chain saws. Not a pretty sound, especially at night.

i got to watch the columbus day storm of 62 from the inside of my parents beachside cabin in Tokeland when i was 11. We watched the waves at night break over the wooden bulkhead and lightly slap the side of the cabin. Dads brand new cedar shingle roof leaked that night as the wind forced the water under the shingles. water bubbled inside the house from the new wood frame windows that faced the beach as well you could see the glass flex inward on them. At this time my viewing of the storm was stopped as they feared the glass would brek. The next day while talking to the coastguard accross the street they said their odometer on their weather station pegged out at 120mph. Dad, grandpa and their friend went towords Raymond the next morning to hunt blacktail. They said it was a walkin due to numerous trees that blocked the logging road they had scouted the day before, but they had gotten a nice 4 point for their effort.

Most of the outages are near I-90. Over 400 of them according to PSE app/map.

So far you are lucky...

Wind is blowing in from the other side of the house this evening. Have lots of stuff hitting the SE corner of the house.

Big outage in Burien. @Bambooflyguy might be down for the count.

So far Blow Bar is experiencing normal down slope winds that we get monthly, some bigger gusts that have shocked the house. Lights have flickerd a few times and internet has stopped for a minute or two but so far all is good.

No issues in puyallup. Some leaves moved around. Still dry.
