Not unless Rip Wheeler is in it.it was bath time in a horse trough
Yup, same thing, except all the good guys died a long time ago and left the bad guys to duke it out over what's left.Is Yellowstone a modern horse opera? I watched a lot of those back in the 40's when they were called "serials". On Saturday afternoons we would go to a theater, get in for a dime, buy nickel popcorn and cheer for our favorite western hero. Among them were Roy Rogers, Red Ryder, Hopalong Cassidy, Gene Autrey, Lash Larue, Tom Mix, Johnny Mack Brown and others. You had to go every week to get the whole story and we dressed up in our western gear and wore our little cap shooter pistols and bandannas around our necks. I'm talking 10 years old and 1948 here, imagine wearing a six shooter into a theater today!
Those serials gave me a love for the West and a desire to go there and see the mountains and somehow be part of it. The day I was discharged from the Air Force I headed for the West Coast and never saw the eastern states again. Glad to hear that some of you folks are still diggin' horse operas....
