Anyone have feedback on these rods? My Douglas DXF 10' 5 wt has become my fave lake rod over my 9' rods, so plan on replacing them with longer rods.
cheers

Don't know if I'd classify my Echo Stillwater 5wt 10' as an 'indicator' rod, but it functions well in that respect, as well at pretty much anything you'd like to use on a lake. One of my favorite flyrods. Has a fighting butt, and adjustable/removable butt counter-weight rings.

Bought it at The Gorge flyshop...they also provided a flyline selection they throw in at no or nominal cost.

I like it so much I bought a spare tip, knowing that would mean I'd never bust one on that flyrod.

Echo makes both the Stillwater and Indicator models...reading reviews on both, the Stillwater just moved up to first

They may or may not be the same rod with some different cosmetics ;)

Edit: I can't remember now, but I think the Indicator rod is actually the same as the Lago. The Stillwater is the high modulus one designed by/for the competition angler types.

I like my stillwater 6wt a lot. The Gorge fly shop recommended the SA Amp Infiniy Smooth (free) and I use that for indicator fishing. Also makes a darn fine rod for ESN nymphing winter steel for me.

old thread but…

I’m looking for an indo rod for big rivers like the D. So you guys would prefer the Stillwater to the indicator rod for such and application?
