Nooksack river closed all summer... who knows the story behind this?

Theres a sense of poetic justice I feel about the tribes shutting down rivers in the name of "conservation" while continuing to utilize the river for profit.

Billy Frank Jr is laughing his ass off about it and I don't blame him at all.

You are correct about poetic justice. I’ve worked for the tribes and am critical of them and have been called a racist for it but I am not criticizing them for their differences and traditions, my criticism is about the similarities. This isn’t about customs and traditions so much as money IMO. Just like in the non-tribal world, greed rules. It is sad to me that the fish buyers and fish markets get their fill of fish so that people can “maintain traditions”. “Tradition” is the perfect cover to take until there is nothing left!

Let’s make this about the fish: To a fish, how is a tribal member catching it and selling it any different than a non-tribal member catching it and selling it?

I firmly agree that from the fishes perspective it matters little who kills it. Im simply trying to find amusement in the hypocrisy and full circle nature of this happening on this river, as it's the only enjoyment I've been allowed to have about it since January

It was their tradition, but not their right.

Sounds fair, inclusive, and equitable to me.
