Glacier

I’m almost 50 and I’ve never been to Glacier National Park…kind of sad😂. My wife and I rented a sprinter van (she’s not a camper) and met 2 of our kids as well as my son’s girlfriend’s family at the park for 5 days. I hadn’t been to a National Park in over 30 years. They are beautiful places but I left feeling like I had been to the outdoor version of Disneyland…so many people.

We didn’t fish much but the fishing in the park isn’t very exciting anyway. The hi-light of the trip was my oldest son getting engagedIMG_7490.jpegIMG_7480.jpeg. IMG_7509.jpegIMG_7522.jpeg

Thanks man! I’m excited for them. They are a perfect fit and our family LOVES her. She threw the Javelin at UW for four years and I love to make a big deal of finally having a high level athlete in the family…just to irritate my boys😂
You should up the razzing a mite with this reminder...

"I love to make a big deal of finally having a high level athlete....that can hunt people down at 70 yards with a thrown spear.... in the family"

I kinda got the vibe there might be some big fish in the big lake at Glacier, hanging at the stream mouths... maybe more in the flathead river side of it. Derek Young could steer your straight

The "shoulder" seasons are not as crowded. Fewer kids. The best experiences will be when you walk away from roads. Same with Zion, Bryce, etc.

I believe that early and late would be better.

I expected to deal with people in and around parking lot, roads, etc. We did several 8–12-mile hikes and were around people the entire time...that was surprising and disappointing.

Been to Glacier 3 times over the years. Even in October lot of people even on trails.
Yellowstone less people hike, to busy road looking because of kids. Always a lot of solitude, good fishing away from roads.
