Notspotting… Places not to fish or when

Freshly Spawned
I Have noticed there are a few places discussed every now and then that should be avoided. How about hotspotting for all the right reasons. Are there particula places that just aren’t worth fishing or aren’t worth fishing at a particular time due to crowds etc. Deckers/cheeseman area is the latest to be discussed. A quick explanation as to why would be great. Should be able to get a pretty good list going.

Washington.
Because ________ (fill in the blank) State is better?

Tag456 - There are lots of places that fish well for part of the year and then don't fish well or are closed. There's a lake I've been fishing for almost 40 years, it's about 70 miles from Ephrata. It isn't open during the normal "trout" season (yes, I know, which "normal" trout season?) and I won't fish it the first few weeks it's open since I don't like busy places. This year, and last, it has fished poorly for me as it went from cold to hot (weather and water) almost overnight. Good luck in your database compilation.

Yes, I keep records of my trips. Since fish are always going to eat, one thing that stands out to me for streams is water levels.

Too high (fast) and the water becomes turbid and hard to get my flies to where the fish will eat them. More importantly at my age wading can be hazardous.

When it's too low I see spooky fish congregate in the deepest (shallow) pools they can find and they won't eat.

So I note and plot those water levels in a table and the "river level" apps on my phone so I can see at a glance what my experience has shown how specific streams will probably fish *for me and my gear and tactics* on any given day - water level.

It's rarely, if ever, worth going out to Hood Canal.
Place is overrun with methheads, and the crab pot theft/car break ins/random vandalism makes any other place in the state look safe.
Given the ever increasing population of large, voracious cougars and bears, any backcountry travel is fraught with peril, and to be undertaken by the boldest and bravest of souls only.
There's safety in numbers, so for your sake and the sake of your loved ones stay close to the I-5 corridor, certainly no further away from it than Point No Point or Purdy, perhaps then at least someone will find your body quickly, sparing your family from endless worry and stress.

Indeed...whenever we go to the wetside, France, or GB we always always carry a fake bar of soap with our money and credit cards concealed inside...knowing it will be the only thing that won't be stolen.

Know what you mean...
On my rare trips to Spokane, I keep my valuables with my toothbrush and shaving kit.
They'll never find a use for those over there, so I am sure things will be safe.
;)

I use it for my back...

It's never that cold over here...plus I grow it out in winter. Sometimes it grows right through my woolies after a long winter.

Woolies? Like a union suit? We only wear 'em at weddings and funerals.

I saw these in a catalog...heard that's what fancy folk in Seattle are wearin. Makes no damn sense a'tall.

Exactly...
Best thing made since the wheel, and there's an argument to be made that the union suit is more useful.
Weddings are small, mostly (within) family affairs out here, so no need for dressing up.
