Hoot Owls Going to Effect on Some MT Rivers

It is a low water year and these restrictions were not unexpected. Still a lot of great fishing around, you just have to get up early and quit early. For out of town folks, these restrictions tend to concentrate them on waters without restrictions.

Great to see MT. is protecting their fisheries proactively.

Now time to take that afternoon nap....

I wish Washington would be proactive and put hoot owl restrictions on the rivers that aren't already closed.
I gave up on the locals since I've been back, to low and warm this year for the fish to recover properly I think.

Our best producing shallow lakes will also take a huge "summer kill" hit! Here in the NCW we have had 5 days straight of 100+! Long range shows little change with mid to upper 90s (with very low humidity) for the remainder of the month and beyond!

If I remember correctly, the last time Washington had hoot owl restrictions on fisheries was 2015.

Sad state of affairs for sure...
