I'm heading up to the Kamloops area Wednesday. Herb's leaving Milton about 0300, I hope I'm still sleeping at that time, we're meeting in Merritt to buy "fresh provisions". Two days ago I cooked a big batch of beef stew and froze a large portion for one of our eight dinners at milehighresort.com's cabin No. 1 (Cabin No. 1 - we stayed there twenty years ago, I wish I could find the picture of Herb letting go of a roll of TP and us laughing as it rolled across the room without any human nudge. The cabin has since been jacked up and leveled. It's comfortable and a great place to stay after a long day exploring local lakes. ) Tonight I cooked about five quarts of spaghetti meat sauce, another dinner ready to freeze for the trip.
Yesterday I got my pram cleaned up, greased the trailer's wheel bearings, torqued fittings for the Scotty anchor mounts and oarlocks and tied the boat to the trailer. I'm taking my float tube along so I deflated it and it will ride up in the bottom of the pram. Herb's got it in his mind that we have to hike into "Ethyl" - no way in heck I'm going to try and skid my pram into "Ethyl". Mosquitoes - "Ethyl" has plenty of them.
Today I spent a couple hours reorganizing my boat tote and making sure leaders were ready.

Five fly rods and a couple spare tips (I've broken a couple rods up there).
Tomorrow I'm moving the CR-V out of the garage and move the pram in so I can begin loading and staging what inevitably will be far too much stuff. I'm not a minimalist when it comes to these trips. Somewhere, there must be a happy medium.
The weather and temperature can be all over the board. One year it snowed inches on the summer solstice. Last year not a drop of rain, way too hot (this time of year) and it was smoky from forest fires. Personally, I want some rain, a bit of snow would be better than hot sunny days.

Herb with a good fish. I hope we can find more of them this year.
