Wanted - 60"+ Rod Tube

Picked up a centerpin rod recently for the fishing holes that I can't spey over the winter, but haven't yet managed to get my hands on a big enough rod tube yet. Before I go out and buy one, anybody got one on hand I could buy or trade a 6pack or two for? I'm measuring out to ~59", so looking for 60"+. Thanks!

If you can't find one get a PVC pipe with end caps. Had to do this with a gifted one piece 9 ft. fly rod. Mother-in-law made sock for it with some scrap material.

I’ve also had good luck with pvc pipes for built in vacuum systems. It’s quite a bit lighter.

I’m curious about this. I’ve been wanting a way to lighten my backpacking load as metal tubes tend to weigh in excess of 1lb and I’m often carrying two rods (mine and my kids). I’m to chicken to just go with the sock for fear of braking.

Could you do me a favor? If you have any of these in a standard 9’ 4piece size weigh it so I can reference it?

2.2 lbs for an 8 ft piece of 2 “ pipe with end caps. I got it at starks.

REC rod components will make a custom sized rod tube for you for not a lot of $$. On their site the page for rod tubes and storage they have a drop down menu for sizing and dressing them up as much as you want. Believe it’s a 3 week lead time.

Placed an order with REC. Pleasantly surprised it wasn't breaking the bank, even if not quite as cheap as some PVC. It would've been just to have my one non-fly rod get the not-so-fancy PVC tube case, next to all the nice fly rod tubes, BUT it's easier to convince the wife they're all important if they're all in nicer cases :ROFLMAO:

Interesting…..reminiscent of the DB Dunn cases from days gone by 3 piece 9 footers that are now homes for 2 of my Steffen glass rods.
