College Football 2023

Man, I miss the days when college stood for education instead of football. When a college coach makes $5,000,000 a year more than the most brilliant professor in his field there is something terribly terribly wrong. It seems we no longer learn from our mistakes.
Kinda brought it on themselves

TV took over years ago, it is now just a complete takeover.
ESPN owns and operates 17 bowl games, and right now they are struggling with tevenues and subscribers on the decline.
This whole thing will collapse when folks realize who subsidizes the entire thing...
Or not.

...and so it goes....

Buffaloes. They are coming!!!!!

But I think they are shallow regarding depth. They lose a couple of those top performers which usually happens during a season for a game or two or more, we’ll see but what a great start for prime time Boulder

What a game…Horned Frogs come up short…
Bummer...

Currently the Broncos are playing the Dachshunds, so if it is going to be a day for upsets, couldn't think of a better one.
:)

Coogs @ 4pm
Go Coogs !!!

You are exactly correct
Depth is often underestimated
Crucial to any team

There is something patently offensive when someone has to put their name on everything they have or wear. In spite of my CU ties I find it difficult to jump on board with the self-indulgent show occurring in Boulder.

Branding
It’s all over the place
Military
Politics
Teams
Corporations
Stripping baskets
I think it leads to success if done correctly
Maybe that’s your beef
My football friends in Boulder like it

Branding is part of the problem with sports in general.
My view

The whole culture around branding is bothersome to me, but evidently not to others.

...and so it goes...

Sanders was a fucking nightmare of bullshit branding when he played, got sick of him real quick and probably will again.
:)

I understand…but it’s slightly better than having a one win season…

I don’t think it’s going to happen…Dawgs are starting to pour it on…

Oh well...

Knee deep in tomatoes, pears, peaches and cukes right now so can't watch any games till done with my chores anyway.
😅

Go Tulsa !!!

;)

The Powerhouse on the Palouse easily handled the Colorado Not Buffaloes yesterday, enroute to what will undoubtedly wind up to be Pac-2 domination...
😁

Oregon State is looking good considering it is the first game of the year.

Started to watch one game where the temp on the field was 132 degrees. "Coach, I am not getting enough Nike endorsement $$$ to play in that kind of heat"!
