Well, my time in Humboldt County is coming to a close. My daughter's mom has been planning a move to Southern Oregon for a while and my daughter wanted to go with. I did the whole custody battle thing this year, fighting and spending tons of money to get as much time as possible with her, and then suddenly, a few weeks ago, I got offered a job in Grants Pass, my hometown, completely out of nowhere. I'm getting to live in the same town as my girl and go back to equal custody.

So I'm taking it! Growing up in Grants Pass, I never toucheda fly rod. I'm pretty excited to start exploring the area fly rod in hand. I'm excited to be close to Diamond Lake and closer to Bend. I'm excited for some insect driven fishing which I miss living on the coast in California. I'll probably get back in to upland bird hunting, and tie flies with the feathers. It's going to be a big change but a very good one!

Is anybody on here in Southern Oregon? Let's meet up and fish!

I just fished the Williamson & Wood several weeks ago for the first time....really fun fishing! Congrats on the move!

I’m glad you will get to spend some quality time with your daughter in a beautiful place. Ski hill, rivers, lakes, mountains to explore and much more there! So often we take our hometowns for granted in our younger years.

Here’s to good times ahead 👍

Congrats Travis! 🎉 we make the drive from Tacoma to Central valley CA a couple of times per year and I always think that area is beautiful and the South Umpqua and Rogue having pretty water.

You better hit me up on your way through Gary!

Welcome home bro.
I grew up in Medford and now I'm living in Glide.
Keep in touch and we can go wet a line sometime.

That whole southern OR is a neat back yard. Did a family trip to the Oregon Caves a few years ago and would love to go back to explore. Congrats on the move.

Not sure how long ago you left GP, but it’s not the sleepy little town/city it used to be. I was surprised to see how much has changed from 5-10 years ago. Traveled down there for work back then.
