Bouncing jigs off the bottom in 100' of water didn't do it, and trolling was no more productive, but this saved the day by bringing in a nice Cutt.

Yes. It's my go to winter/spring fly. Infact there are many winter trips it's all I bring.

Size 18 hot spot pt's have been working well

Simi seal leeches, black or brown, with a hot orange bead, under an indicator, were out-fishing the bait folks 4:1 this morning. I left my flies with some fly guys who were not doing so well so I'll be heading to the vice.

Lost 2 big ones at distance and one at the net. Oh well, I got all the fight and it's not going to be smoked. Call it a draw. The wife likes 'em so I kept a pair about this size at the end of the morning for dinner.

The lakes are starting to turn over today, lots of junk coming up by the time I left.

Such a big gap for a size 18 with a bead! What hook is that and size bead? I feel like all my 18s end up feeling crowded if I put any bead of size on them
