Community sharing and two requests

Prayers for you & your family, Shawn.

Looking forward to many more years of your lake reports. I've never met you but we are a community. If there is anything you need I'm sure one of us on here would be able to help you.

I added you and your family to my morning prayer list Shawn.

Thinking of you Shawn. And yes, good advice.

Shawn, my heart goes out to you and your family and I pray that you have a successful surgery and recovery.
I started this same walk with a Stage IV diagnosis 20 months ago. It's been a long road, 3 month of chemo followed by Cytoreductive surgery and Hipec followed by another three months of chemo. I left out alot of details but it had spread to other areas of my abdomen.
I hope yours has been caught early enough and is contained to the colon.
Yes, colonoscopies are important but I was on a three year interval due to polyps and this sprung up since my last colonoscopy.
Again, wishing the best to you and your family.

Wishing you and your family the absolute, you're in my thoughts. Keep us posted, you got this licked.

It's amazing what your team can do for you if you catch it early. And, it's also amazing what your team can do for you if you were'nt so fortunate. Go get 'em, make every day as good a day as you can. Your team wants you to get better right away.

I don't know ya personally but I'd fish with ya or just hang in the shade.
Love and prayers to ya brother.

Shawn, I'm not good with words in these situations, but I'll pass on what my friend told my daughter when she was diagnosed:

"We will visualize a road that is as smooth as is humanly possible, with each step laid out before you, creating a healing pathway that will yield only the best possible outcomes."

That was 8 years ago, and my daughter is has been clear and healthy ever since her treatment.

Get positive and whup this thing. I'm expecting cookies next March and I'll have an extra batch for ya.

Shawn: thanks for sharing this news. I'm sure it was not easy. as mentioned many times by others, I too will pray for you for a positive outcome.
you are a stand up person, great fisherman and I can tell that the group of people who you fish with, enjoy your company. I know I have greatly appreciated getting to know you over the years.
Positive thoughts and prayers coming your way - you got this!

Shawn,
Sorry to hear of your diagnosis. I and old406kid are proof there is life after a cancer diagnosis. There isn’t much of this cancer fighting game that I don’t have experience with. If you have any questions or if there is anything I can do to help do not hesitate to ask. Listen to your medical team and obviously ask questions about everything. One other piece of advice, if and when you do chemo lean on the nurses in the infusion room. Your doctors are good for advice but the people working the chemo lounge have seen it all. Tell those nurses everything that is going on. They can and will help you deal with the struggles of chemo.
