Hit up a local lake on Sunday. Pretty much had it all to myself as only a couple other anglers in the morning were trout fishing and they left about an hour after I got there. It was one of the best days I have had fishing where everything caught was not a recent plant. I fished the South East corner of the lake as that is where the breeze was blowing into so I figured the fish would be drawn to that area to feed if they are keying on daphnia, which they were. It did not take long to get into fish and none disappointed. I caught most on a midge tip line with an olive marabou wiggler on the point, resin buzzer on middle dropper and olive blob on the top dropper (mostly for attraction). After the buzzer got broken off I switched to an indicator setup with a chromie with black rib on bottom and chromie with red rib on top for a bit and got a little bit of action. That got 1 take and a couple of nibbles but the wind started to pickup so seeing takes was getting harder to notice. (should have re-rigged the midge tip). Switched up techniques again to washing line with booby fly and a couple of resin buzzers evenly spaced and had one knock but couldn't set the hook. Once the wind calmed down I switched again back to the indicator for the last hour with a black marabou wiggler on the bottom and a weird small size 14 gold bead head thingy i tied up on the top about 4 ft down. The fish would not leave the size 14 fly alone it got action on basically every cast but it was so easy for them to spit it before i could set hook in time. Anyways here are some photos nothing smaller than 15in, biggest fish of the day (17in) was probably the second one i caught which ended up taking the olive wiggler on the hang. (first time for that). Last pic is of the flies, if you have not tried Brians (Chan) marabou wigglers they are super easy to tie and extremely effective.
