Wanted Son showing interest in FF - Waders Medium-Short and Boots Size 9

My 12-year-old son is showing interest in fly fishing, I picked him up a 5wt Redington combo and gave him an old sling pack, nippers, hemos, and fly boxes so he has his own gear to use and care for. I don't want to let his enthusiasm slip away through discomfort and a lack of catching. He's been out with me a few times for some single fish and skunk days and hasn't lost interest. Despite being a kid, impervious to temperatures when having fun, he does get cold. I need to find him some used waders and boots that won't break the bank or hand-me-downs. He's 5' and wears an 8/8.5 shoe. It's an odd tweener size most small waders have 7-8 stocking feet and mediums are 9-11. He'll be swimming in a medium and a sausage in a small... Medium short seems the answer to get him through the next couple years.

Does anyone have some medium short waders and/or boots you or your kid has grown out of?
