The bread cart with a sourdough from a 140 year old starter…I’d hate to be the guy that lets that starter die…

My wife and I have always wanted to visit that area. How is the humidity this time of year?
I'm "that guy" that would really enjoy the food and all the different flavors to both the eyes and the palate, but then would still have to hit McDonalds on the way back to the hotel room.
Seems like a great time,
Mark

Temp and humidity is perfect now…but in a month?…

If you have time, you might try to visit Hot Springs, VA. Stay at The Homestead if you have a few extra grand burning a hole in your pocket. Beautiful area, and even some fishing.

Unfortunately my Director of Cultural Affairs (my wife) had other plans…and did burn a another hole in the other pocket…

You've been eating like a king lately brute. Been watching you on the food thread too. Congrats

My wife says:

Tonite we are eating our egos, not filling your belly.
So you better eat a dinner before we go to dinner.

We all have experiences/objects we covet but rarely acquired...things routinely enjoyed by the truly affluent.

Having dined in renowned locations I've found it doesn't do anything for me (nor my spouse), but that doesn't mean that very the rich don't possess something I'd very much enjoy, had I the necessary financial resources.

I've flown on private corporate jet around the US and was able to see a luxurious world of air travel that makes our current state of commercial flight cattle call squalor even more discouraging.

The rich don't even see the same airport terminals we do, don't deal with TSA, lines of any type, or even departure schedules because the pilots are simply waiting for your return. An idling luxury vehicle is waiting near your aircraft when you land, and private terminal personnel cater to your every need.

Watched a young woman with two small children returning to Georgia from a NY shopping trip descend the stairs from her Gulf Stream...Gucci purse carried by one of the flight officers.

Ah, the life! But alas my air travel fate is stuck next to John Candy in coach, made even more distasteful after the experience of private jet travel.

The food looks great, the descriptions and pics bring each dish to life, there just needs to be more of it.
🤣
My foray into fine dining is pretty limited, and likely in my past, but I really appreciated the time and effort that went into preparation and presentation of each dish and of course the wines chosen to go with each dish.
The 2 best meals I had in the states were both fine dining type establishments. Both were well known and written about type places that lived up to their press in my view.
I would go again, when the bitcoin cycle is favorable, or interest rates go down...one of the two.
😂
