Whats your favorite DIY or store bought float tube fly rod holder

No, commander came with the two on the side. I think they new Commander comes with 3 already installed
That's sweet. They sell the glue on patches aftermarket - didn't realize some rigs come w/ them pre-installed.
@Brian in OR. might be worth checking them out.

Not sure if they'll adhere to the shell of a float tube though.

I just tuck them pointing backwards right next to the seat.
I had a rod come off the back of my Watermaster that way so I was using a leash, *but now* have these on my rods that don't hamper rod action or casting at all
However I use a rear facing original Scotty (on my "non-casting arm" side) *on my Watermaster*
and *(with float tubes)* a very lightweight strap on PVC "Rod Right" tube rod holder (on my casting arm side)
*ADDED and updated - for my Watermaster I use the (now apparently discontinued) Water Strider "Bolt Action Rod Holder" on my casting arm side. It is a longer PVC pipe rod holder than the vertically mounted "Rod Right" and has slits in the pipe to pass 2 webbing straps through to strap it on the tube horizontally facing forward at a 45° angle which IMHO makes it better (but not good at hooking fish) than the RR for trolling with the rod in the holder.

yikes!

I don't think I've come close (all it takes is once though). Buuut, one of my primary reels is from 3DFlyReels. it floats and is enough to float my 10wt...of course there's the issue of the other rod (I hate using the foam floats on my rods, hate the feel)

Kind of a different approach, I took some ADS pipe to make a second rod storage/holder and a fitting to drop my Fishin Buddy II in. Not great but it works. Also pretty low profile which keeps from getting too caught up in vegetation when packing or launching.

Homemade with brass braising soldered together. Mini bungees hold the rods securely. Racks slide into small holes melted with a nail in the tackle bag. The hooks on bottom go into D-rings on the side of tube.
It works quite well actually.

I built something like Tom and Shawn from PVC, but with the rod holder part angled at 45 (two backward, one forward) so I can troll while rowing.

The Outcast float tubes dont give you the option of using any strap type rod mount holders because you can't pass the strap over the tube because the seat and back platform is all stitched to the side...

There is just enough tube in front of the seat and stripping apron on my SFC to mount the Rod Right vertical rod holder on my right (casting) side and a Fishfinder Mounts strap-on fishfinder mount-battery box on the left.

Here’s what I do.
I slip the glue on pad under the shell between the shell and bladder. (No glue) Then CAREFULLY melt a small hole through the shell with a hot punch at each screw hole. Now attach whatever, track, rod mount etc through the holes and into the pad. Works great! Once the tube is inflated it’s rock solid.
