Watch your tinsel supply - newest hair fad

Some background. In 2011, a number of celebrities, including Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler, wore grizzly hackle feathers woven into their hair. This created a massive fad. The upshot was that hair-dressers began to buy capes in large quantities to meet their clients' demands. Supply for fly fishers crashed and prices skyrocketed. A few fly tyers committed sacrilege and made some bank selling feathers from their capes to the local salons.
Well, we may be in the incipient stages of a new trend a decade later. I have noticed two of my students with tinsel threaded into their hair.

So, if you have a need for fine tinsel, acquire your supply before the rush is on. And if you have an ample supply, you may be able to translate your surplus into cash at your local hairdressers.

Funny to see that. I recently had the hardest time finding medium and large mylar tinsel! Finally got some from J Stockard.

A few servers at my restaurant were doing this a few months ago. I asked about it and they were shocked that I'd use the exact same tinsel for flies. Ended up giving them a few strands of different colors. Thinking that may have been a mistake.
