Hasn’t happened since 1776, good luck because people are complacent now
...complacent FOR now...

Watching AI taking half the jobs and parents/grandparents dying hungry because social safety nets are cut, while watching billionaires and trillionaires live it up might not work out how the zottarich think it will.

"You poor take courage, you rich take care."

The majority voted them in.
There was ample warning before what was going to happen.

I think a lot of people vote on "vibes" without carefully considering the impacts of their chosen candidate's policies on their own long term self-interest. Having those chickens come home to roost hits differently than some pointy headed professor's warning.

Looks good to me. Let's lower it more.. government isn't going to stop spending on it's own.. it needs to be starved to death.
Rob, you're contradicting yourself. In your post #19 you wrote, ". . . We at the same time need to shore up SS and pay off our debt. These are things we have to do."

You cannot "shore up SS (Social Security) and pay off the $40 trillion national debt and lower taxes. Remember, SS is the single largest line item in the federal budget. You do understand basic math, right?

If you guys talked/debated fishing like you do politics/societal issues, would be a wealth of fishing information instead of hit or miss.
We used to on the old forum (that shall not be named). Were you around for the "swing vs dirty azz nymphing" debates and the various bobbercator debates? Oh, or the personal accusations I received regarding fisheries management that I had nothing to do with? Much blood letting. Threads had to be shut down to protect the personal safety of some of the participants. Fortunately no one was banned for advocating a choice other than a 9' 5 wt as the ideal trout rod.

Although many of us take a casual interest in politics and social issues, we take our fly fishing seriously Mister!

I was on the site then drifted off…

There were some other, older forums with very little moderation. I heard they had some real doozies for threads.
Wish I could have been there.
😁🤣😁

Actually I'm not contradicting myself. Here is why, congress isn't going to shore up SS or pay off the national debt no matter how much money we gove them. They will spend money only to buy your vote.

Therefore I say defund the government. The less money they have the less power they have over our lives and that is objectively good.
