So 90% of my fishing these days is on my boat. And I wouldn't trade that! But there are still some circumstances where I use my Fishcat Scout pontoon which I really like. However, having to rely 100% on rowing and flipper power is a bit problematic on one of my main go to lakes.
It has been fishing incredibly well this year but alas the water level has dropped to where you can't launch a boat anymore. The spot where you can still access the shoreline to launch a pontoon is still a pretty fair distance to the areas I like to fish. Doable but if the wind comes up from the wrong direction then its a big problem. And unfortunately the "wrong direction" is our normal direction.
So I am considering selling the Scout and going to a pontoon that has a motor mount so I can add a trolling motor. Done some online looking and it seems like the Outcast Fish Cat 9IR is about the best way to go and keeping the price reasonable.
Anybody got some other suggetions?
