The wife has a little deal tomorrow so I'll be with her for the next couple days. She told me to go out today, so twist my rubber arm. My backs feeling better, which is nice in several ways, so I went for an easy walk down some maintained roads. Lots of new snow on top, especially further south.

All of these flies worked to some extent

I fished the thin mint and a heather nymph I lost in trees on a backcast on a sink tip line but just could not hook up. Besides that as I stripped the water would freeze in the guides so I gave up on that as I was fishing here

Just so cold even slow stripping and twitching an indicator

I could not hook up on the balanced leech although it did get attention, but each of the smaller simi seal leeches that I posted the other day were good for these fish, the sz 16 not so much

I really enjoy this rugged country but the whole time I could hear the river in the background. Patience.
