You two must like ticks. Spring bear in western Montana equals ticks. I hate them.
Have a good time. I do mean that.
Man I wish I had the time and resources to add this to my things I do. Seems like an awesome experience.
Haven't looked into much because I just plain can't pull it off yet. Just something I'd love to do.Itβs my favorite hunt of the year! Hopefully you can get the time somedayβ¦when you do let me know and Iβll be a resource for you. Have you looked into the reduced tag units? Most of the units I hunt are reduced tag units and they sell tags for $40 to non-residentsβ¦you can buy 2.
Oregon still has spring bear I think?Haven't looked into much because I just plain can't pull it off yet. Just something I'd love to do.
Indeed. Still no way to fit it in.Oregon still has spring bear I think?
I remember the days when doing anything I wanted to do for more than a few hours might as well have been time travel...just not possible. The good news for you, because you take care of yourself physically, you will be capable when the time comes.Haven't looked into much because I just plain can't pull it off yet. Just something I'd love to do.
My Montana hunting partners would use rope and grappling hooks to wade a high-water creek.
Then the hunt would begin. Ticks all day long. Get back to camp and strip nude outside of a backpack tent. Hang clothes outside, normally in the rain. Get in the tent and have a friend check where you could not see. Warm clothes ,food and sleep. Morning comes, get nude, go outside and put wet clothes on. Ticks had crawled away. Go out and harvest a bear.
Now I'm certain I never wanted to shoot a bear badly enough to go through that.My Montana hunting partners would use rope and grappling hooks to wade a high-water creek.
