While investigating a blown over semi another one blew over on the Sheriff's pickup.
He was in the vehicle but had only minor injuries.

A 134 MPH gust was recorded at the top of Alpental ski area last night.

I guess it didn't decide to stop when it hit the borders to the east.

I have towed a fifth thru that area a few times . My most memorable , I bought a new 38' fifth wheel in Indiana drove from Utah to pick up ,and drive back . I-80 was closed the day before I came thru from Cheyenne to Rawlins . It was still pretty breezy the day after when I came thru the area , most semi's were still pulled over waiting it out . Several I witnessed that blown over the day before , some in the process of getting cleaned from the loads scattered ,and removed .

I remember asking a lady at a gas station in Rawlins , is it always this windy, that was when I was on my way to Indiana . She said no , it's usually worse .
