Pink Nighty
Legend
I'm sick of tying flies and thinking they're killers only to find out on the river they swim like shit. I've learned I'm about 50/50 on getting the wiggle I want, and I havent learned to just look at a fly and know quite yet.
With swim tanks going for 200+, I figured I could do better than retail.
A trip to petsmart for their smallest aquarium (21$) and the smallest pump available (17$) for an after tax cost of 44$. At home I took a 1ltr water bottle and cut the bottom off, then attached 2 5oz cannonball weights with zip ties.
Attach the pump to the aquarium wall and thread a leader and fly into the bottle. Place the bottle cap end on the pump and pull the leader until it finds its plane!

A narrower but still firm bottle is a likely upgrade as the current could be smoother but this absolutely works and cost 25% of retail.
