Well, summer is gone. I hope everyone got out and wetted a line. What’s your favorite fish this summer and why? My favorite is this brook/bull hybrid. Not my biggest fish this year but the most interesting for me.

Did you know there are kayak bass fishing tournaments? I’m currently enrolled in a season long one that takes your top 5 smallmouth and top 5 largemouth. There’s about 50 of us competing this year. Super fun. You submit photos of your fish on a ketch board.

I’ve been told my gear fishing knowledge gave me a different perspective on fly fishing, which so far has worked out in my favor. Im glad to know both forms.

Did you use to fish and then retire from it? Or do you just love the art of tying? I appreciate your talent. But I’m 100% a heathen 🤣

Thanks for the welcome. Is there another way to pose with a bass when one is fishing by themselves? Because the only other photos I have of these fish are on my ketch board, which is a little more boring.

Bass overload 🤣 thank you for the good welcome. I mainly save my spinning rods for when my family visits. But my goal is to start converting them next year.

Thank you. I’ve caught 6 bass around that size this year. I need 4 more to qualify for my season long tournament. And I don’t Euronymph. At this point in time, I have no desire to learn. I’ve been highly effective with my current repertoire of fishing skills. But I do fish with two friends who...

I haven’t taken up fly tying yet. I’m not sure when I’d have time to do that while still working. But I’d like to learn at some point!

I’m still learning so much about bass fishing and it’s my third season targeting them. I’ve never been this frustrated targeting cold water species before.
