Tolovana Inn in Cannon Beach has been good. Classy town, classy joint, at the beach. Many rooms have a fireplace; 2 nice brew pubs in town plus a few excellent restaurants by OR coast standards.

+1 for Gilda's. Salt of the earth folks running that place. Great atmosphere before a Timbers game, because come fall they will still be in the playoffs and the other Cascadia teams won't be. ;-)

I use athletic tape under the frame to reduce chafing. Hard to prevent it 100%, but it helps a ton. Cotton tape is biodegradable. 2nd the magic eraser (lightly! - it can shred through hypalon, other coatings) and simple green. After cleaning, 303 a few times a year or less depending on use.
