Comment by 'Buzzy' in article 'Superstick Telescopic Push Pole'

@Evan B - I don't know how I missed this article; well done!! If (I look every day for the "right" boat at the right price) (or when) I buy a boat I'm going to invest in a Superstick. In years past I had a 13-foot by 1.25" diameter "dowel" as my push pole. My old 14' Hewescraft had spent a...

    Caprs in the net

EDIT, EDIT: I don't know what @Billy uses but Buzzy (Pat Burdick) uses a 240 204 caliber rifle casing that is sharpened on the inside and outside edges., (thanks @Jim F.) I push hard on 2 mm closed cell foam, and twist the cartridge to make 240 caliber foam circles. I pierce the center of the...

    Caprs in the net

This morning I looked outside, none of the trees were moving. Huh? Calm! Hitched up the pram and headed out to the lake. I started out fishing a hybrid and spooked every fish I cast to so I changed to a small jig under an indicator; had one or two fish look at the fly but not commit...

    Found a couple more

Two more new wind driven fires this morning but by mid-morning the wind (sort of) laid down in Ephrata and the sky was blue. Nothing pressing and a bit too hot to do yard work. What's a capr fisher to do? Almost there, greeted by Minions. I still had the same jig nymph and strike...

    Found a couple

Yesterday the clouds vanished and the "W" eased. I headed out to similar water that Stacy (@skyriver) and I fished last Friday (but a bit further north). Of course, come up on the flat above Sun Lakes and the wind is whipping. Forty years I've lived in this area and for 40 years I've been...

Not many fish, but great scenery at a N. central WA lake 7/1/2026

Rex - that is a GREAT photograph of the double rainbow and their reflection on the lake and I like contrast between sunlit and shaded hillsides. Very nice. Where was the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow hinting at great fishing..........?

    Celebrating Our 250th Anniversary

My wife and I were invited to a friend's place for breakfast along with about 30 other people many of whom we haven't seen or talked to in far too many years. It was a lot of fun to catch up. The hosts are retired orchardists who now donate much of their free time to working (for free) at the...

    Found a couple

I was trying to lower my profile, still spooked the fish, I guess as no sooner did I see two fish coming towards me than a cloud moved between us - where do the go? Vanish, poof!
