I think it would depend on what the creek's your fishing are like? I have a 7'9" Sage LL 2wt as my small creek rod. If I were targeting brush, heavily tree lined creeks, I think a 6'6" rod would be better suited. Wind and a 2 wt are not high on the fun meter but heavily treed are protected from...

SF, it looks to me that the “black” material on the front cross bar is the stripping apron rolled up. Th e tube should be ridged enough without it so I assume it’s just for the stripping apron. Not seeing it in person, that’s just my spin on it

Great report SF. I too found myself on a coastal CT lake this weekend. The full body launches after dragon flies is fun to watch. I'm going to have to revisit the dragon fly patter post and tie up some adult DF patterns as I was unprepared to match the hatch but did Ok anyways.

Nice looking area you made it out to. Only a little smoke to cloud the sky. That’s about my distance limit for a day trip as well all depending on how much elevation gain over that 7 miles.
