    Years ago I was obsessed with catching bonefish on Caye Caulker and nearby Cayes and I never had to pay to use a dock but I learned to always ask permission ... if you had put in the time and money to construct a pier in front of your house/hotel you would be rightfully territorial and pissed...

    boy that's an ugly problem, paper thin and terminal rust... I fabricate and have a tig welder and live out by the hood canal bridge... it won't be pretty but we(as in you and I) could probably jury rig a temporary fix.

    the water is public, you can wade/fish right in front of a resort or a house and they may glare but they don't own it, docks are private and I learned to always ask permission having seen people get chased off a dock by someone waving a machete.

    Glad you enjoyed it.... I first went to Caye Caulker 50 some years ago and had 17 lobster meals in a row, lots of people forgot to wear their clothes down at the cut...

    We're going on a month long road trip via the Chilean Carretera Austral from Puerto Montt down to Punta Arenas and back up through the Argentine side taking my 5 wt. Fishing is not the focus but when it presents itself a guys gotta do what a guys gotta do... any advice about where's not to be...
