Looking for advice on two handed beach rods for Baja

I fish in Baja often and have used the Beulah Opal rods in single and 2 hand versions. If you’re targeting medianos and grandes from the beach then you’ll want at least the 7/8 version but I’d recommend even heavier because the flies you’ll use are larger, 4/0 and 6/0. If you’re only in areas...

Echo Swing for NorCal - S. OR rivers?

I fish those same rivers and both rods would work well. A 6wt is good for all summer/fall fishing but you’ll want a 7 for winter when you’re using sink tips and bigger flies. If you don’t fix much in the winter then I’d go with the 6, but if you had to only pick one rod then the 7 will be the...

I have a Beulah 6wt, usually fish it with 390/400 scandi...

I’ve done well for shallows in CA with slumpbusters and meat whistle flies. Finding the right retrieve is important, depending on their mood and water temp.

    Gel Spun Poly Recommendations

I use both the Veevus GSP and Semperfli Nano silk. Both are good and even the small size 50d will work well for spinning hair. I prefer the nanosilk, have had several spools of Veevus where the thread separates and somehow gets trapped int he spool, basically ruining it.
