OSP needs help (fishing closed waters on Walla Walla river)

Someone on another board also suggested he may be doing some trespassing to fish, so that might push the report along... Maybe he regularly does this.

    Vibram or felt sole..?

Vibram with studs because 99% of my fishing is walk/wade. Studded rubber is the best compromise you can do if you are walking and wading. It's not the best, but not total disaster, either. If I had a raft/boat, I'd probably wear a pair of studded felt soles because they are superior in the water.

HELP, Landowner Blocking Historical Access Point to the Miami River, How To Proceed

If you want to keep pushing this, I would try Backcountry Hunters and Anglers. These are the type of issues that they like to take up.

    Music on the water

I don't listen to music on the water. I'm out there to be in nature, so I like to leave that stuff behind. I can see listening to music on headphones/buds if there is a lot of undesirable ambient noise (roads/leafblowers/dubstep from rafters), but I wouldn't because it would decrease...

    Euro curious... on a budget.

Are you down to 20 feet of 5x sighter and 8x tippet for your leader setup?!?

    NFR Pertussis/Whooping Cough

A couple of states ago, a neighbor somehow got it and gave it to his baby. It was pretty awful, but she pulled through. Since it falls under the tetanus booster label, adults don't always think about keeping up with it.

    Euro curious... on a budget.

Fish the way that brings you joy, but if tenkara rods were superior for euro nymphing, you'd see the hardcore euro guys using them, and they don't.

My two cents: Pick up that 3wt carbon xl and use that for a while.

    Yakima steelhead fishery history?

I think the basin being compromised all the way back in the 1800's explains it. Never got a change to gain notoriety.

    Yakima steelhead fishery history?

How good was it? Was it a destination fishery at any point? Were there monster B-run/Thompson class fish, or tens of thousands of one salt fish that crushed dries? There does not seem to be much discussion around it when it comes to "the good ole days", but the Yak and it's tribs sure look...

    Yakima steelhead fishery history?

The "old reports" thread, got me thinking, what was the steelhead fishery on the Yakima like? Is there any literature about it? High desert canyon river, looks similar to other well known ones. Was the fishery over and done with even by the 60's? Back in 2015 I saw a pretty large steelhead...

Now The Shad Are Causing Problems

Probably the best way to get rid of shad, pike, walleye, and bass is to make a market for them.

    Starter Two-Handed set up?

I would get a full 10' T11 tip (can be cheaper!) and a 5/5 T11 MOW tip. Just 10' of T11 might be fine for you all winter.

A glimmer of reason in the automotive world

Have you seen the new Outback? Doesn't have a third row, but it's getting bigger and blockier. Subaru is creeping in that direction, to many folks dismay.

    Central OR Guides

If your family members haven't fished the Deschutes, I'd suggest doing that for the experience alone, and there should be plenty of willing trout in June. I'd call shops in Bend/Redmond/Maupin and tell them you are looking for a guide trip with someone who isn't able to wade. Like mcswny, I...

    Non-Fly Bead size/color...

How much does it matter to you? Do you think a steelhead would really turn down a properly presented 10mm bead because it's the wrong shade of pink?

Ross rods - anyone own one or used one, or know anything about them?

They probably didn't skimp on the epoxy.
