NS is a real pistol for coho off the beach. For some reason they don’t come very close to the beach much anymore, sea lions maybe ? I always end up chasing them in the lower river where they show themselves.

Not surprising considering there were so many of them at the river mouth a week or so ago they blocked off the mouth from one side to the other. Sick !

And really how much longer do you think sportsman will have a salmon fishery in the skagit with the tribes running the salmon fishery in Puget sound ? Looks like WDFW is all to happy to just step aside and let the tribes run/decide how the salmon fisheries are run.

The Communist/Evil tree huggers are running rampant in this state and now have basically shut down salmon fishing on the Snohomish system. Along with the Stilly shut down every year now you know they are going after the Skagit next and then onto the Green river then Puyallup, etc. No good...

Yes i use OBS on my trout spey, 8 wt on a 4 wt spey/switch. If i was to use the OBS most of the time I would size up the line to at least a 9 wt to get a better load on the rod. And my 8 wt OBS is a tropical version so it is slicker and a little stiffer up here compared to the tropics. I think...

I use Hydra float as a running line for commando heads or any 300-380 head. Easier to handle and it floats of course it won’t shoot like mono lines. Works as a backing too.

I use light olive to dark olive. And really like a yellow olive or just straight yellow. Try a red rib on the body too.

Is it just me but checking the planting chart it seems they are stocking more fry this year ?

Too many to name. Would like access to a beach not far away but i am not tribal. My wife & inlaws are but Montana tribal. Do need to check my local beach for chum fry as the return numbers have gotten better the last couple of years.

Maybe try the Outbound short in the appropriate line weight ? I bought another OBS for tropical use in a certain place because of much wind in the fall. Also can use this line on a light switch/spey rod for beach use around here.

I use a 330 scout on my echo 4wt. Works fine. Also a OPST 300 commando. Want to get an 330 integrated line this year.

Have an Echo 4 weight. Much more of a light steel/salmon or large trout rod. It handles salmon up to 9-10 lbs. bead head flys to light intruders or heavy stone flys. If I wanted to strictly go for trout the 2-3 weight rods would be my choice. 2 cents.
