Here is a cleverly engineered tool for correcting a loose metal ferrule fit. It has two stationary rollers and a third roller on a adjuster to compress the walls of a female ferrule to tighten up the fit of the male slide. By squeezing the female barrel and rotating the tool you can reduce the...

Here is an opportunity to buy the Sully Rod Wrapping fixture. These have not been made for a number of years now and are rare to be offered up for sale. Highly regarded in the rod building community. This unit looks to be new or having very little use on it. Complete with all the components...

Great rod, creek and adventure Dave. Yes, Tim was a big fan of Clifford Constable rods. His collection includes eight rods from the 5'9" Dart to the 8' Empress. He also has a fiberglass Sceptre rod made by Clifford Constable. It's quite the collection. One rod, a 6'9" wallop Brook still has...

I'd like the art of the wet fly. Sending a PM

Thanks for sharing another great adventure Dave. Funny about having to wait out the weather (well not really) I was part of a Hi-Laker group waiting to be dropped at the same lake about 15 plus years ago. The weather like yours was not conducive to safety standards to make the trip. But our...

You made someone very happy (y)

Wow beautiful lake but quite a challenge of a hike with float tube, waders, fins, woodstove and fishing gear, 10 essential and who knows what else. How heavy was your pack? I am impressed.

As long as you are OK with working rod repairs LOL

Here's an update to the repair, I think it turned out pretty well. Not a restoration quality but a repair for a working rod. The thread had a little damage, but I managed to save what was left.

The Six Amigos on the fly boxes Bob had created for the five remaining Amigos from left to right are Kent Lufkin, Bob Burnell, me, Don Wicklund, Richard Olmstead and our good friend Tim Cottage (also in the framed picture). This picture was taken about two weeks prior to his passing at one of...

Glad you are finding it useful. For those who want to try this, be sure to use unwaxed dental floss to wick up the excess spar varnish beyond the wrap.

I found a copy at Abe's (y) ;)

Now that is a great idea Ron!

Congrats and a great looking box of fly patterns. I always look forward to your reports.

Silk lines are nice to cast but you need to maintain them. Dressing the lines before use and drying the line post fishing trip off the reel is needed to keep the investment from rotting. I think that the 406 fly lines (plastic) are a great alternative without the need for the maintenance. But...

Dave you never cease to amaze me. Those flies are amazing! Thanks for sharing. Mike

All I can say is WOW Dave! Quite the selection of flies. Are all these your ties? Mike

I agree, it would have been nice to have a couple more hours to cast a few more rods. so little time so many rods LOL.

It was a lot of fun, casting and talking bamboo it doesn't get much better than that. Dave arranged a wonderful toast to our good friend Tim Cottage (in hindsight it would have been a great picture..................). Tom Bowden's TriHex was amazing to cast and try to figure out how he...

I’ll bring Ben Gay🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪
