Some really like the Davey , I learned it years ago ,very simple ,not sure I remember it now . It is a quick one , but the improved clinch was the first fishing knot my brother showed me ,and just found it good enough to tie on flies .

I have learned , and forgotten many knots over the years . I keep it simple , and easy these days . Improved clinch , non slip loop , perfection loop ,and the double or triple surgeons knot . Covers about everything I do . Occasionally a nail knot , with the tool of course . :)

Some of best memories were with my dad . Being raised in northern Montana in the 50's, and early 60's was a pretty great time , our horses , etc etc .

I see a bit of the weekend funnies here in Montana , but not nearly like some of my local lakes , when the power squadron get going .

Taking my 14 year old youngest son years ago to fish the Ayakulik river on Kodiak Island . We put the trip together with some friends spent a week floating the river on our own . Caught a lot of king salmon on that river . It was fun to watch that 14 year old chase a king down the river getting...

Done that exact thing for years , spin the fly line back on the reel , unless there is too much then it's stripping , but most times I spin back on the reel to handle the fish . So far I have been lucky I guess never have had a backlash on a fly line . Many times that line thats been spun back...

Off the charts !! :D

I have a pair of the Swiftcurrent waist high, had them for a few years now , no leaks so far . Only drawback is they do not have a zipper, that would be nice to have , but they are not bad to deal with . Overall Patagonia seems to make pretty good waders .

Good ideas there, but not many worries with the phone these days . I traded my pontoon boat for a Lund fishing boat ,phone just stays in the glove box, or on my person . It may get dropped ,but it would be on the floor of the boat . :) I am much more worried about dropping my remote for the...

Got this attached to the glove box of my fishing boat . 😀 Gotta be a pretty exceptional fish to be taking a picture .

All three states I have fishing license for are on apps on my phone . Yesterday on a put in on the Madison got checked for license ,just brought it up on my phone . Last year out on my pontoon boat ,warden in a boat , got checked for license , same thing ,handed him my cell phone with the...

Very fixable , got a pair of the same pontoons a few years ago , one seam split from over pressure . Took to a boat cover place ,they sewed it up ,couldn't tell looked brand new .

And the season hasn't even started yet . :ROFLMAO:

I saw that ,pretty common for the park . In all the years I have fished the lower Madison , I only remember one year they put it on hoot owl , probably have been more .

Supposed to see 97 here on the Madison, pretty hot for 6500 feet , plus windy ,and very low humidity . Wouldn't surprise me to see them put the Madison on hoot owl .

What I keep finding out is that I had forgotten what reels ,and spools ,lines etc I do have . Rods not so much . Going thru my stuff , wow forgotten I had that reel , I should use it . Just got off fishing the Missouri with a friend , talking about rods ,and reels , came to the conclusion we...

Unfortunately there are unsuspecting people that will buy them . I may have thought those life jackets were a good deal if I hadn't seen the exact ones at Walmart . I was needing to add a couple to my boat, although I didn't buy them from Walmart .

Just saw on Facebook a couple life jackets for sale for $40 ea. That particular life jacket is sold by Walmart for $14.97 ea.

Tombstone , with Curt Russel

That's unfortunate . I tow a fifth wheel. I was able to tow a small trailer to Montana behind the fifth wheel for our annual summer stay ,then also having the trailer to transport the pontoon back ,and forth to the lakes up here . Solved a lot of issues for me , not having to take the boat...
